The New hostel building for the students of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) was inaugurated at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Muddenahalli Campus at Muddenahalli, near Chickballapur, Karnataka on Saturday, 2 April 2016.

In attendance at the inauguration were, Sri K Chakravarthy, Sri S S Naganand and Sri R J Rathnakar, Members of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri GSRCV Prasad Rao, Secretary of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, members of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (Public Charitable Trust), the Registrar, the Vice-Chancellor; Deans, Heads of Departments and the teaching staff from the various campuses of the Institute. Also present were the workers, supervisors, engineers, and architects, who contributed in various ways to the construction of the building.

The rites of inauguration began late evening on Friday, 1 April with the Vaastu Homam. This was followed in the early hours of Saturday morning by the Kalasa puja and the chanting of sacred hymns by the Muddenahalli Campus students of SSSIHL. The morning’s proceedings included speeches by the Registrar and Central Trust member, Sri S S Naganand and felicitation of the construction team by dignitaries of the Trust.

The program concluded with Mangala Aarati to Bhagawan.

The new hostel building is a three-storey structure and houses 37 rooms which can accommodate 300-plus students. It is located adjacent to the campus and has all the facilities intended to encourage the students to reflect on and benefit from the Institute’s philosophy of holistic learning.
