The workshop focused on Spiritual and Therapeutic aspects of Yoga, both in theory and practice.
Yogic practices that help reduce digestive disorders, prevent the onset of diabetes, reduce obesity and increase the immunity of body cells against cancer were practiced during the workshop.
Participants also practiced Kriyas (Internal Organs Cleansing) - Jala Neti, Sutra Neti Trataka and Kapala bhati during the course of the program and derived immense benefit out of the same.
Participants had Yoga Philosophy lectures based on Patanjali Yoga Sutra, Hata Yoga, Pradipika and Bhagavad Gita. In fact there was a Gita - Bhakti Yoga shloka chanting on the final day of the workshop.
During the workshop, participants listened to the audio clips of Bhagawan on Patanjali Yoga Philosophy and got the Divine inspirational message on the importance of Yoga in Spiritual Sadhana and also in achieving perfect health. Bhagawan revealed the secret that "Patanjali yoga sutra confers the divinity".
Above 25 hours of Yoga instruction was given to participants teams within the 4 days of this workshop. This indicates the intensiveness of the Yoga Sadhana. There were about 108 participants in total who got the benefit of this workshop. This includes doctors from General Hospital and Super Specialty, Staff from Radio Sai, Book Trust, Welfare Trust, Faculty and Administrative Staff of the University and Music College, Employees of other associated organizations of the Trust, visiting devotees (both national and international) and other yoga teachers within the Puttaparthi.
On 27 July 2016, Prof Rajesh Asst Professor of SVYASA – Yoga University, Bangalore spoke at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (Super Specialty Hospital) and addressed impressively the doctors, nurses and other staff on the topic - Yoga as a Science and how Yoga Therapy works. On the same subject Prof. Rajesh spoke to the doctors and other staff in Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, earlier on 26 July 2016.
Prof. Rajesh also interacted with Yoga students at Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School and had an interesting Question & Answer Session with young boys, who are practicing yoga.
The special feature of the workshop was the individual attention given to the participants. In addition, every day between 10:30 A.M to 12:00 noon, special advice based on yoga principles was given to individuals, who needed personal attention. Around 36 participants utilized this opportunity to get guidance from Asst Prof Rajesh and other Yoga Therapists Ms Vijaya Lakshmi, Ms Archana Devi, Dr P Madhavi, Ms Sree Swathee, Mr Chandra Mouli, Mr Srinivas, Mr Sudhir Singh, Mr Bibek Goutham and Mr Yajna Prasad, who got their training and certification from some of the best Yoga Universities in India.
Sri Prasada Rao, Secretary to the Central Trust spoke on this occasion and appreciated the way the workshop was conducted in a professional manner in the divine environment. He felicitated Prof. Rajesh of SVYASA - Yoga University Bangalore and a team of 9 Yoga Instructors. After observing the enthusiasm and encouragement by both, the Co-ordinators and the participants, Sri Prasada Rao, Secretary of SSSCT permitted the continuation of Yoga sessions in Prasanthi Nilayam.
