Forbes highest paid footballer list

Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo tops the Forbes 2014 list of the world's highest-paid athletes. The total earnings of Portugal and Real Madrid star were pegged at $80 million as of June 2014.

Fourth in the list, Argentina's Lionel Messi finished as a runner up in the 2013 Ballon d'Or after winning it a record four consecutive years. His earnings are estimated at $64.7 million.

The earnings of Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimovic are estimated at $40.4 million. He is placed 12th in the list.

Placed 14th in the list, Real Madrid's Gareth Bale has earnings of $36.4 million.

With estimated earnings of $35.4 million, Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is next in the list.

At the 16th position in the list is Brazil's Neymar. His earnings are estimated at $35.4 million.

England national soccer team player Wayne Rooney is placed at the 43rd position in the list. His earnings are estimated at $23.4 million.

Argentina's Sergio Aguero follows Wayne Rooney in the list at the 44th spot. His estimated earnings are $23.3 million.

Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure is ranked 59th in the list with estimated earnings of $21.7 million.

Spain's Fernando Torres Fernando Torres is placed 63rd in the list. His earnings are estimated at $21.3 million.
