Hyderabad: Haryana Gold and Punjab Steelers won their respective matches in the UBA Pro Basketball League at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium here on Sunday. Haryana Gold defeated Mumbai Challengers 100-73 while Punjab Steelers down Delhi Capitals 78-69. After an impressive win in their last game, Punjab Steelers was expected to win this game comfortably.

And as expected Punjab Steelers were off to a perfect start, with Kuldeep Singh putting the Side in lead. Delhi Capitals, who registered a surprising win against Haryana Gold in their last game, had a slow start to this one. With most Delhi players looking rusty in the first quarter, Punjab Steelers ended it at 22-14 lead.

However, Delhi Capitals, led by their star player Aaditya was in better shape in the second quarter, leaving to chance of scoring. With some excellent passes and successful rebounds, Delhi Capitals closed in on Punjab Steelers, who were still leading 39-36 at half-time.

Second half saw momentum tilt back towards Punjab Steelers. Sartaj along with Kuldeep ensured the side returns to a comfortable lead zone. Veer and Ravi mostly played the support role in this quarter to ensure Punjab Steelers finishes the quarter at 64-56 lead.

Delhi Capitals was running out of options, and failed to contain Punjab Steelers who were now inching slowly towards another win the League. Though Yudhvir joined Aaditya in scoring but the duo could do little to prevent Punjab Steelers from winning the game 78-69. And with this win, Punjab Steelers have inched closer to qualify for the knock-out stage.

Results: Punjab Steelers 78 (Kuldeep Singh 28, Sartaj 19) bt Delhi Capitals 69 (Aaditya 19, Yudhvir 15); Haryana Gold 100 (Vikas 24, Rakesh 14, Birender Singh 13, Vaibhav 9) bt Mumbai Challengers 73 (Karan Pal Singh 31, Arif Mohammed 19).
