HCA never took rural talent under its wings: Abid Ali

This, in a nutshell, reflects the gloom that prevails in the interiors despite the burst of talented players from across the districts of Telangana. This also shows the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) in a poor light.
The rural talent has something to look forward to now as the beacon of hope comes in the form of the recently floated Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) of which the amiable yesteryear player, who brought a dramatic turnaround to the fortunes of Andhra as its coach, is presently the head coach.
He told reporters that the Association would strive to provide a level-playing field to every rural talent so that he could knock on the doors of the big league with individual exploits.
‘Telangana talent will get its rewards in course of time,’ said the 75-year-old Abid Ali, while announcing the list of district Under-19 and 25 probables. The veteran of 29 Tests said that this was just the beginning of the endeavour to spot and nurture young talent.
TCA Secretary Gurava Reddy reiterated that they would first and foremost try to get affiliation of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He said that with Pingili Naresh Reddy as its President, the Khammam district unit was bound to move in the right direction.
