Hyderabad: Former Test stumper MSK Prasad is deep-rooted in his simplicity despite achieving several firsts for a player from Andhra Cricket Association.
Ever humble, and devoid of any tantrums that appear to be the hallmark of players who are significantly lower in stature, the humane side of Prasad was the fore when he was felicitated on getting elevated to the senior national selection committee by the Electronic Media Sports Journalists Association (EMSJA) here late Monday evening.
The function was in acknowledgement of his elevation as a member of the senior national selection committee of the BCCI. Going down memory lane, the emotionally-driven cricketer recalled the days of struggle and hardships his family faced to ensure that he would realise his cricketing dreams.
‘I owe a sense of gratitude to all my elders, coaches, and well-wishers who stood by me and celebrated when I became the first Test cricketer from ACA. Today, it makes me feel honoured all over again as I am the first from the Association to make it to the senior national team selection committee”
Senior sports journalist Ch. Krishna Rao presented a brief biopic of MSK and lauded his efforts as director operations, ACA. Sports analyst & writer C. Venkatesh hailed the work ethics of MSK in his every role.
Organising Secretary J Sreenivasulu, senior sports scribes, Ch Krishna Rao, Sudhir Mahawadi, Ch. Krishna Rao and Srirambhatla Kishore recalled their association with Prasad.
Sponsors of the function, Sports Village CEO Shamsuddin and TRS leader Manne Goverdhan Reddy hoped to see Prasad render an admirable job in his new assignment.
