Khammam: Host Telangana State began its campaign in the 61st Senior National Ball Badminton Tournament for men and women at Pavilion Ground here on Tuesday. The women defeated Puducherry 2-0 while the men, eyeing a hat-trick of title triumphs, put it across Manipur by an identical margin.
Andhra Pradesh men and women teams also registered wins in their respective matches. And the margin was also 2-0 in their wins. The women beat Manipur while the men defeated Orissa. The event is significant because the top performers stand a chance of making it to the national squad that will participate in international outings in the season that has just commenced.
