Johannesburg: German racer Nico Rosberg refused to get carried away despite holding a 43-point lead over Lewis Hamilton, insisting that the reigning Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton will surely mount a strong comeback in the title race.

Rosberg won his fourth successive race of the season at the Russian Grand Prix on Sunday, while Hamilton displayed tremendous resilience to finish second after starting 10th on the grid.

Hamilton endured another weekend of mechanical problems as he was unable to race in the final session of the qualifying after suffering an engine failure on Saturday. As a result of which the Brit was forced to start from tenth on the grid.

While downplaying suggestions that he would easily stroll towards the F1 championship title, Rosberg said that he needs to be mentally prepared to tackle a potential comeback from Hamilton, Sport24 reported.

The German insisted that Hamilton was driving as strong as ever, adding that the season would see a lot more of the battle between both of them.

Hamilton hasn't won a race since claiming the world championship in Austin last year and has 17 more races left to defend his title.
