1. The city had witnessed the grand opening of ‘Hyderabad Sailing Week’, with Hon’ble Governor Shri ESL Narsimhan flagging off the opening ceremony, the battle to prove their sailing mettle has begun amongst the sailors. The Day 1 of the ‘Hyderabad Sailing Week’ has proved beyond the expectations of sailors, as with heavy rains and strong winds blowing, the difficulties have increased by manifolds and it was no easy going for anyone.

Yet the sailors were determined to undertake the sailing in this harshest of the weather and compete for the glory. 03 Races were conducted in each category namely RS:X, LASER STD, LASER 4.7 and HOBIE-16 respectively. The present standing on Day 1 in all categories is as follows:-

2. The India’s ace badminton player Ms PV Sindhu, Padam Shri was present to felicitate all the winners in various categories. During the prize distribution ceremony she said ‘With hard work and determination, every goal can be achieved’. “The presence of Ms PV Sindhu, Padam Shri has filled the atmosphere with thrill and excitement and has also encouraged the sailors to put in their best in the upcoming event” as said by one of the sailors present during the prize distribution.

In RS:X, Mr Jerome Kumar and Mr Arjun Reddy of Army Yachting Node(AYN) have taken lead with 5 & 7 points respectively and Mr Ebad Ali of EME SA was at 3rd position with 9 points. In LASER STANDARD, sailors of AYN has swept all the leading position with Mr Muzahid khan (3 points), Mr Mohit Saini (15 points) & Mr Gurjeet Singh (17 points) securing 1st , 2nd and 3rd position respectively. In LASER 4.7, Mr Rishab Nayar
