Sahaja Yamalapally was merciless in her 6-0, 6-0 drubbing of third seeded West Bengal player Yubrani Banerjee. Qualifier Humera Shaik was all of grit and determination while outclassing fifth seeded Aarthi Muniyan from Tamil Nadu 4-6,7-6(4),6-1.

Also falling by the wayside was another Delhi player Anurag Nenwani, seeded eight, who was given the marching orders by Tamil Nadu’s Dhakshineswar Suresh, also in straight sets. Meanwhile, the top seed Karnataka’s Suraj R Prabodh entered the third round with a straight sets win over Jaydeep Chudasama.
