Hyderabad: Big time archery returns to the city when the 24th Senior Indian round and 2nd Para national archery championshipsbegin at the RRC Ground here on Saturday.

Spread over the weekend, the event has attracted the participation of over 300 archers from across the country for the Senior Indian round, which will have competitions in 30 and 50 metres categories. According to TAA president Anil Kamineni, the Para-nationals will feature 60 men and 10 women.

Events will be in three categories, including recurve, compound and Indian rounds with each having distances of varying proportions. Kamineni, who is also Secretary of the national body, said that this championship would help in tapping young talent so that India could figure more prominently in international outings. Indian archers won two silver medals at the 2016 World Championship.
