‘Golf for Wildlife and Nature’ a collaborative effort by WWF India, Hyderabad, and Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) was an instant hit at the HGA Golf Course here in Saturday.

It also marked a befitting commemoration of International Tiger Day by the WWF.It was an occasion where winning was not of primary importance but the concern for saving wildlife and nature, both of which are victims of human greed, that deserved a toast from the participants.
It was serious golf after the tee-off by HGA President J Vikram Dev Rao. Bringing in the glamour quotient was Sharmila Nicollet, the brand ambassador for Golf and Wildlife and Nature Tournament-2017.
According to Anil Kumar V Epur, Chairman of WWF-India Hyderabad, the event, which is into its third edition, has helped bring golf close to nature. That sentiment was echoed by Dev Rao and Nicolett, who also called upon the people to come together and help sustain the environment.
To make it livelier for the kids, a face painting competition themed ‘Be a tiger’ and a mask making competition on ‘Wear your wild side’ were organised.wildlife photographer Masood Hussain conducted a photography training workshop.
