Hyderabad: In what was easily the closest and most thrilling match in the ongoing Season Five of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League (KPL) U Mumba came up with firm resolve to pip a more than determined Haryana Steelers 29-28 at the Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli here on Sunday.
It goes to the credit of the Steelers that they had a sensational debut despite finishing on the losing side. The Haryana outfit paid the price for moments of lapses against a team, which is loaded with seasoned campaigners.
Their experience helped them in critical junctures. Anup Kumar marshaled his resources quite admirably and that is where they outscored the Surender Nada-led Steelers. Both teams traded raid points in the first minute to level the match at 1-1. Kashiling Adake scored with a two-point raid in the fourth minute as U Mumba led 4-3.
The Steelers defence did a fine job in the early stages of the match. It was Anup Kumar’s two points that tilted the scales.
