New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued show cause notice to Board of Control for Cricket in India's acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary to explain why its order on the Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha committee recommendations has not be implemented so far.

A three-judge bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra was told by the apex court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) that none of the recommendations of the Justice Lodha panel and the directions given by this court have been implemented. The bench, also comprising justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud, asked Choudhary to personally appear before it on September 19 to explain the issue.

Meanwhile, it asked the Committee of Administrators (CoA) managing the affairs of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to prepare a draft of a new constitution on the basis of its directions based on the Justice R.M. Lodha Committee recommendations that it has endorsed.

The bench said that the draft constitution would be based on its directions on July 18, 2016 and its order of July 24, 2017 by which it had agreed to re-examine the one state one vote principle, the strength of the selection committee and the status of associate members.
