Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) XI annexed the All India Coromandel King Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup with a virtuoso performance that saw them defeat Air India by seven wickets and 17 balls to spare in the finals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS) here on Thursday.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) XI annexed the All India Coromandel King Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup with a virtuoso performance that saw them defeat Air India by seven wickets and 17 balls to spare in the finals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS) here on Thursday.
Put into bat, Air India made 267 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 50 overs with Naman Ojha and Manvinder Singh helping themselves to half-centuries.
The host did not sweat much as they cruised ahead to a comfortable win losing three wickets in the process. Tanmay Agarwal top scored with a fluent 84 while B Sandeep and Kola Sumanth made 71 and 60 not out respectively.
The champion was richer by Rs five lakh while Air India took home Rs three lakh. The losing semifinalists received Rs one lakh each.
Later, Justice L Narasimha Reddy, Ombudsmen of HCA, gave away the prizes. HCA office-bearers Dr G Vivekanand, T Seshnarayan, Anil Kumar, P Mahendra, Chitti Sridhar were present on the occasion.
Brief scores-Final: Air India 267 for eight wickets (Naman Ojha 62, Manvinder Bisla 56, Hiten Dalal 35, Lalit Yadav 38, M Ravi Kiran 2/50, CV Milind 2/64, Mohammed Siraj 2/56) lost to HCA Xi 273 for three in 47.1 overs (Tanmay Agarwal 84, B Sandeep 71, Kolla Sumanth 60no, AT Rayudu 35no, Gaurav Kumar 2/ 32).
