Hyderabad: Budding sportspersons will get an Olympic feel sooner than later, thanks to the dynamically-woven Sports For All, the country’s biggest youth sports championship for schools and colleges.

SFA, Hyderabad Championship Event 2017, with a collaborative effort with Ministry of Sports and Youth Services, Telengana State will launch its first edition in which competitions will be held in 23 disciplines.

Conceptualised by Rishikesh Joshi with the sole aim of providing the right sporting platform for talented young Indians, the initiative will host 35,000 school-going kids from across the city.

Sports Secretary B Venkateshan and Chairman of Sports Authority of Telangana State, A Venkateshwar Reddy and its Managing Director A Dinakar Babu lauded the initiative while stating that this would have tremendous positive impact on the youngsters , who could be motivated further.

Joshi said that they were keen to replicate the Mumbai success in Hyderabad. SFA will be held from November 4 to 17 at Gachibowli Sports Complex and LB stadium, The 23 disciplines include handball, basketball, volleyball, throwball, hockey, kabbadi, football, water polo, kho-kho, judo, taekwondo, boxing, karate, badminton, tennis, table tennis, athletics, shooting, archery, carrom, swimming, and chess.
