Having been granted AIFF’s four-star accreditation, the Foundation has been invited by LaLiga.

Mumbai: It will be rewarding experience for budding footballers, who left for a fortnight-long tour of Spain, thanks to Reliance Foundation Young Champs, which is India’s first elite residential football academy. Having been granted AIFF’s four-star accreditation, the Foundation has been invited by LaLiga.

The RF Young Champs will be exposed to the finest of prevailing standards of the beautiful game. They will be playing friendly but competition-driven matches against LaLiga club’s academy teams, including Real Madrid, Atletico de Madrid, Valencia, Villarreal, and Leganes.

Head Coach Mark Vaessen has taken 30 academy pupils along with him, including in the Under-12 and Under-14 age-group categories.

According to a Foundation release here on Sunday, this is the second experiential tour for the RFY Champs. On the earlier occasion, the trainees were richer from the experience of playing against colts from Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and West Bromwich.
