Showing a renewed freshness to his game and approach since the triple he achieved in Jordan Open, Snehit was the toast of the 3-2 win over the more formidable India ‘A’ in a closely contested championship clash.

The final was a personal high for Snehit as he settled scores with his bête noire and India No 1 in junior and youth categories Manav Thakkar in the crunch match. In his first singles, the Hyderabad lad defeated Jeet Chandra, who, incidentally, was beaten by an inspired Parth Virmani in the decider. It was a significant comeback as they were trailing 1-2 after the third match.

The top seeded India ‘A’ comprised of higher ranked Manav Thakkar, Manush Shah and Jeet Chandra while India ‘B’ had Anukram Jain besides Snehit and Virmani.

En-route to the finals, India ‘B’ accounted for combined teams like Japan, Kazakhstan-Slovenia, Iran-Poland and Thailand-USA. "I am very happy with the victory. As a team, we could beat the top three seeded teams. At a personal level, I shall cherish the conquest of Manav as it marks my first win over him," was the immediate reaction of Snehit, who lost only one game in the entire team event.

The girls were on the verge of creating history when led by Mumbai’s Diya Chitale, they got past Korea Republic B in the semifinals 3-1. However, In the finals, they showed their mettle once again before losing to Chinese Taipei 2-3 in the final.
