Newcastle: English Golfer and the host of British Masters 2017, Lee Westwood had a winning debut in the tournament when he clinched the winner’s title in the one-hole knockout contest-The Hero Challenge-to give the perfect impetus to ahead of the British Masters 2017.

Bolstered by the support from over 4000 fans, Westwood defeated Spaniard Sergio Garcia in a shoot-out in the final, after eliminating Britain’s Ross Fisher and Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger in a similar fashion in earlier rounds.

Later, Pawan Munjal, Chairman of Hero MotoCorp Ltd, presented the winner’s trophy to Westwood. He said that they were delighted to be a key partner of the European Tour, which had inspired the innovative ‘Hero Challenge’ at the British Masters in 2016.
