Hyderabad: Here is some good news for all cricket fans from Hyderabad. The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has put in place all measures to ensure that the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS) would remain match-ready on Friday.

The third T20 match between India and Australia marking the culmination of the series will be hosted in the city on that day. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Association President and Secretary Dr G Vivekananda and T Shesh Narayan said that they had taken enough precautions to see that the ground would not cause any worries.

They pointed out that RGICS boasted of the finest drainage systems in the country. Added to that they have enough material to keep the entire ground covered, which could be further facilitated with the availability of two super-soppers. This would ensure that even in the event of rain, the ground could be ready in a couple of hours.

Although, the city has been ravaged by rains in the past one week, the officials oozed with confidence of conducting a hassle-free match. Meanwhile, they said that tickets worth Rs 3.40 crore were sold within hours while another Rs one crore was expected by Wednesday. Tickets are available online and also at counters set up at Gymkhana Ground.
