Incidentally, it was inaugurated by national head coach Pullela Gopichand, whose Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy ranks foremost on the global firmament.

Finishing the Premier Badminton League Season 3 on a high, Hyderabad Hunters - the 2018 Champions - have further cemented its connect with the city by coming up with this academy, stated Shyam Gopu, CEO, Hyderabad Hunters.

In his brief speech, Gopichand stated, "This Academy will help to further bolster the efforts of the team to have a more committed footprint in the city and promote badminton with a professional approach."

Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of the academy, an Under-13 event was held for boys and girls with an overall prize-money of Rs 50, 000.

Gopu added that the franchise undertook this initiative with an objective to play a more active and constructive role in promoting and developing badminton within the city and the region.
