CWG gold medallist Sanjita Chanu fails dope test
CWG gold medallist, Sanjita Chanu has tested positive for testosterone and has been provisionally suspended by the Indian Federation.

The dope test was done on sample ‘A’, which was taken prior to the World Championship in Anaheim in November, last year.Sanjita has the backing of IWLF. Yadav has stated that the they were confident that she has done nothing wrong and that they are suspicious as to why the dope test took so long to conduct.
He has also stated that they would be waiting for the result of sample ‘B’, that they would be trying their best to prove her innocence.If the sample ‘B’ also tests positive, Sanjita would be handed a four year ban from weightlifting.
This would prove a deterrent to the Indian weightlifting community whose profile has been on an upswing recently.Sanjita Chanu has participated in the World Championship last year, finishing at 13th position, with a total lift of 177kg and in the CWG this year, in April, finishing at first bagging India a gold medal, with a total lift of 192kg.
