Defending champions Aslam Elite XI retained the Devineni Venkataramana Praneetha Memorial Cricket Tournament at Mulapdu Grounds here on Thursday.
Krishna: Defending champions Aslam Elite XI retained the Devineni Venkataramana Praneetha Memorial Cricket Tournament at Mulapdu Grounds here on Thursday.
They defeated Pavan D Power CC by four wickets riding on the individual brilliance of best bowler of the series P Ravi Teja’s (4/45), which helped the opposition for 110.
However, chasing the target was no easy task for the champions as they lost six quick wickets before they managed to clinch the issue in 18.3 overs.
KGS Prasad of Pavan D Power was declared Man of the Series while Mastan of ASM XI CC was awarded best batsman.
It was a special occasion for Krishna District Cricket Associvation (KDCA), which hosted the event, as it was their 18th successive edition.
Later, Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswar Rao, gave away the awards and complimented the organisers for bringing in players from rural areas like Nuzvid, Machilipatnam, Kondapalli, Mylavaram, Kankipadu and Mulapadu.
A Yella Rao, Secretary, KDCA, K Ramesh, Admin Manager, Mulapadu grounds and CR Mohan, Media Manager, ACA, were also present on the occasion.
Brief scores: Pavan D Power CC 110 in 22.5 overs (M Suresh 44, P Ravi Teja 4/45) lost to Aslam Elite XI 112 for 6 in 18.3 overs (G Anjaneyulu 2/23, Ch Vamsi 2/25).
