Madhya Pradesh player Deep Munim went the distance to topple the top seeded Aayush P Bhat from Karnataka in the bioys Under-14 semifinals while in the Under-16 category, Gujarat’s top seeded Heerak S Vora was sent packing in three sets by Tamil Nadu’s fourth seeded Hitaesh P.
Meanwhile, Sanjana Sirimalla, the top seeded local girl in the Under-16 category, rallied from a first set to the tournament sensation Reshma Maruri from Karnataka. She faces city-mate Veda Raju Prapurna, who upset fourths seeded Haryana opponent Yana Dhamija.
