Sahaja, Sai Saran in title clashes
It will be an all-Telangana State affair in the women finals featuring unseeded players Sahaja Yamalapally and C Sravya Shivani while Andhra Pradesh’s unseeded giant-killer B Sai Saran Reddy will battle it out against Taman Nadu’s top seed Prithvi Sekhar in the men summit clash of the TSTA AITA Ranking Tennis Tournament prize-money Rs 50k Men & Women week of 18th June 2018 at SATS Tennis Complex.
Hyderabad: It will be an all-Telangana State affair in the women finals featuring unseeded players Sahaja Yamalapally and C Sravya Shivani while Andhra Pradesh’s unseeded giant-killer B Sai Saran Reddy will battle it out against Taman Nadu’s top seed Prithvi Sekhar in the men summit clash of the TSTA AITA Ranking Tennis Tournament prize-money Rs 50k Men & Women week of 18th June 2018 at SATS Tennis Complex. The tournament is being organised by Telangana State Tennis Association.
In their respective semifinal clashes on Thursday, each of the finalists posted straight sets wins.
The biggest win was delivered by Sai Saran who knocked out eighth seeded local contender Ajay Prithvik. In fact, the Andhra Pradesh player is in line for a double having reached the summit clash in the men doubles along with A Krishna Rohit having vanquished Oges Theyjo and Guhan Rajan 6-4,6-4 in the semifinals.
A significant accomplishment was from Sahaja, who had made it to the main draw after winning three qualifying rounds without droping a set.
