Secunderabad: Going the extra mile, St Ann’s College for Women, Mehdipatnam emerged champions of Osmania University Inter-college Basketball tournament for Women 2018-2019.
They defeated host St Francis Degree College in their Begumpet courts 42-38 to win the tournament that was played on a league-cum-knockout basis.
Later, at an impressive function, Dr Sr Sherly, vice-principal of St Francis College and Prof Sunil Kumar, Secretary IUT men and women, Osmania University, jointly gave away the prizes in the presence of Dr G Vimala Reddy, Head Department of Physical Education, St Ann's College for Women, and her counterpart from the host college, Syed Farooq Kamal.
Meanwhile, at a felicitation function organised by the winning team Principal Dr Sr Amrutha the triumphant players were hailed for their showing.
