Otherwise students and employees will stand to lose a lot, they said. Earlier, they garlanded the statue of Potti Sreeramulu near old bus stand and paid homage. Textile traders took out a rally from local Seven Roads Circle to Day and Night Junction and formed a human chain. Earlier, they burnt the effigy of KCR.

A novel rally was taken out with bullock carts at Palakonda mandal headquarters. Former Home minister and TDP leader Kalavenkat Rao took out a huge rally in Palakonda mandal.

Palasa constituency MLA Juthu Jagannayakulu informed that all Seemandhra legislators and ministers will demonstrate at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on August 13. The stir will continue until they get a favourable verdict, they said. Congress activists took out a huge rally in Palasa on Sunday and raised slogans in support of united AP. In the wake of a call to organise rail roko on Sunday as part of the Samaikyandhra stir heavy police bandobust was made. Barricades were set up in front of all police stations that were manned with not less than 30 policemen each. Two constables were placed at every level crossing gate.

However, the police breathed in relief when there were no signs of the agitators implementing their plans. But railway stations wore a deserted look as people postponed their journeys due to the threat. In the wake of a bandh in Odisha on Saturday all trains arrived late and the call for rail roko on Sunday caused inconvenience to the passengers. Police said Section 144 and Section 33 were clamped in the railway station and surrounding areas. With orders from higher officials to take strict action against those who disrupt train services, local police have become more alert.
