Eating organic, fresh and nutritious food while avoiding white sugar, processed and fried food will increase our immunity and certainly prevent congestion. There are certain foods that can reduce, retard and reverse congestion. Let’s look into them.
Hydration: Lack of fluids increases mucus in lungs, clogging the arteries and making it difficult to breathe. This eases by sipping on hot drinks.
Salt: Salt therapy is a natural treatment that offers relief from symptoms caused by congestion, inflammation and allergies of the respiratory due to its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Honey: Traditionally honey is used in a variety of ways in long-established home remedies to ease the respiratory tract.
Ginger: It is a warming food and has been used since centuries to relieve congestion. Fresh and dry ginger has anti-inflammatory properties.
Tulsi: It is a common herb used in traditional Indian home remedies as well as in Ayurveda for medicinal purposes of chest and respiratory disorders and to breathe free.

Ghee: Ghee has amazing anti-inflammatory properties and is very soothing for the chest. It is high in Vitamin A thus making it a strong antioxidant while increasing ones immunity.
Flaxseeds: They are known for their antiviral and antibacterial properties so include flaxseeds in your diet to mitigate congestion.
It is very easy to cure a congested chest by simply adding these foods and following natural remedies. Congested chests can lead to loads of severe respiratory problems.
If the severity continues it can lead to bronchitis, asthma and failure of lungs. So simply add garlic, ginger and turmeric in your daily diet and sip on herbal infusions topped with basil, honey and life for a contented chest and not a congested chest.
