If you, like a large number of discerning globetrotters, are seeking adventures of the eco-friendly kind, Nevada really ought to be high on your bucket list.

In our era of conservation consciousness, it pays to travel responsibly. Nevada has diverse ecosystem of national park, forests and lakes. Nevada encourages some of the below mentioned initiatives to boost eco-tourism and increase sensitization towards environmental conservation along with inculcating the trend of responsible tourism emphasizing sustainable outcomes.

The Slanted Porch
The Slanted Porch in Fallon, an environmentally conscious eatery, seems as if it were plucked out of a trendy urban neighborhood and dropped into charming, laid-back rural Nevada. This unassuming converted 1908 residence could easily be mistaken for a home if not for its sign. The building was renovated and expanded by owner Steve Hernandez and his wife, Peggy, over a three-year period. The loving detail that went into remodeling the century-old building is also present in the food.

Sloan Canyon national Conservation Area
Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area’s 48,438 acres provide peace and solitude for those who visit the unique scenic and geologic features and extraordinary cultural resources. The centerpiece of the area is the Sloan Canyon Petroglyph Site, one of the most significant cultural resources in Southern Nevada.

Archaeologists believe the more than 300 rock art panels with 1,700 individual design elements were created by the native cultures from the Archaic to historic era.

Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument
Designated in the fall of 2014, Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument is one of America’s newest and most interesting areas to explore. Considered to be one of the greatest records of Ice Age fossils in the entire world, Tule Springs is overseen by the National Parks Service and spans over 22,650 acres of land.

Just 20 miles north of the famed Las Vegas Strip, the designated area lies in the city of North Las Vegas and begs to be enjoyed.

Animal Ark
Animal Ark is located north of Reno on thirty-eight acres and primarily features native North American predators, though a few exotic species have found a home there. Animal Ark educates tens of thousands of children and adults a year about ecological principles and wildlife by providing special programming events and educational tours.

Animal Ark makes a great effort to build every animal enclosure with native trees, boulders, and vegetation to simulate natural habitat.
