Apple's World Wide Developers Conference will be commencing on June 13. There are several rumours hinting the arrival of various new features and devices, and the latest one is that the Cupertino-based tech firm will be introducing iMessage app on rival Google's Android OS.

According to Mac Daily News website, which cites some sources 'familiar with the company's thinking', Apple is focusing on opening up to other rival OSes as well in order to expand its reach beyond own iOS and OS X.

It was further added that plans are always liable to change when it comes to Apple announcements. However, iMessage will definitely be coming to Android this year.

Bringing its own apps on the rival platform is nothing new for both Google and Apple. Google recently launched its Allo messaging app, which will be coming on both Android and iOS. Allo is a new messaging service that will compete with Facebook's WhatsApp and Messenger products. It features a chatbot powered by Google Assistant. Allo, like WhatsApp, will also have end-to-end encryption.

On the other hand, Apple has showed some love for Google by launching two of its apps on Google Play Store - Move to iOS and Apple Music. Apple revealed Apple Music last month. The service includes a live radio station called Beats 1, tools to find curated playlists or individual songs and a social music network on which users can comment on music and share it as well.

Some of the other news expected for the WWDC 2016 event is upgrades to OS X, iOS 10 and the launch of some new apps.
