You might have travelled to some airlines which offer in-flight entertainment systems to help you kill time. But did you observe that many of these systems come with built-in cameras?

In-flight entertainment systems with cameras were noticed by passengers of American Airlines and Singapore Airlines, who tweeted about the presence, sparking privacy concerns.

BuzzFeed News originally reported about the spotting of the cameras on the passenger aircrafts. Although both the airlines confirmed the presence of the cameras but stressed that they were included with the off-the-shelf units from the manufacturers and have not been activated.

While the airlines have assured that they won’t be using those systems in their airlines anymore, technology comes with its loopholes, allowing malicious users to potentially exploit them for personal benefits.
