Babajob.com Partners with Internet.org. Babajob.com, India\'s largest online job portal catering to the informal and entry-level formal job sector, announced today that it will be one of the services offered on Facebook’s recently launched Internet.org project in India. It also has the distinction of being the only job portal targeting the informal job sector offered on the Internet.org app.
Access to over 150 million subscribers on the Rcom network could lead to significant jump in registration of Jobseekers on Babajob across India.
Hyderabad: Babajob.com, India's largest online job portal catering to the informal and entry-level formal job sector, announced today that it will be one of the services offered on Facebook’s recently launched Internet.org project in India. It also has the distinction of being the only job portal targeting the informal job sector offered on the Internet.org app.
Facebook and RCom have made the app available to Reliance mobile users in six states and plan to expand across the rest of India in 90 days. With the expansion, Internet.org and the services offered on it have the potential to reach RCom’s over 150 million subscribers. As a result of this project, Babajob.com will be able to further increase its Jobseeker base, providing more Jobseekers in the informal sector with access to better job opportunities and prospective employers with a larger pool of talent.
Internet.org is a global partnership between technology leaders, nonprofits, local communities and experts who are working together to bring the internet to the two thirds of the world’s population that doesn’t have it. Users of the Internet.org app will have access to various services on the internet without any data charges.
When asked about the partnership, Babajob’s CBO, BharaniSetlur, said, “Facebook’s endeavor to bring large parts of India’s population into the information-enabled societies that we are gradually evolving towards has been Babajob.com’s core mission, with a focus on providing a simple, mobile and web, jobs and livelihoods marketplace. Babajob also operates across several other platforms including SMS, mobile application, and non-internet mobile. Jobseekers without internet access can use Babajobby simply giving a missed call to 0888 000 4444.
