With Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect services users can connect directly to IBM Cloud services through a secure, flexible private link that enables workloads to move seamlessly between clouds.
It also gives enterprises the freedom to store data in a variety of settings, including a traditional IT environment, a dedicated on- or-off premises cloud and a shared off-premises cloud making it easier to scale and meet business requirements.
Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect enables users to take advantage of Software Defined Networking (SDN) capabilities allowing for more control and agility over their connectivity to cloud environments. Capabilities include consumption-based bandwidth, pre-provisioned on-demand resources, controlled application performance and varying classes of service.
“Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect allows users to connect to applications simply, securely and reliably,” said Shawn Hakl, vice president of enterprise networking and innovation for Verizon.
“With SDN at the heart of our Secure Cloud Interconnect solution, IBM customers will find it delivers an unbeatable combination of performance, control and efficiency to enable their digital transformation.”
Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect customers can now connect to IBM Cloud data center sites located in Dallas and San Jose in the U.S. and Tokyo and Sydney in the Asia Pacific region. Two additional sites are planned in Europe for the beginning of 2016.
Verizon removes the barriers that often affect enterprise cloud adoption, including control, scalability and flexibility with its Secure Cloud Interconnect platform. With IBM, Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect now offers access to eight cloud providers (Amazon Web Services, Google CloudPlatform, HPE Rapid Connect, Microsoft ExpressRoute® for Office 365TM, Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute®, Microsoft Azure Government and Verizon ) and three data center providers (Coresite, Equinix, and Verizon) at more than 50 global locations in the Americas, Latin America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect supports IBM’s broader portfolio of Direct Link services, which allow customers to establish a secure high-speed network connection between their existing IT infrastructure and the cloud compute resources on the IBM Cloud powered by SoftLayer.
The services come in three distinct offerings—Cloud Exchange, Network Service Provider (NSP), and Colocation—all designed to give enterprises fast and consistent network performance, high data security, as well as hybrid cloud deployment options including direct access to multiple cloud service providers.
Verizon Private IP Provides Secure, High-Performance Environment for Cloud Computing Secure Cloud Interconnect is built on Verizon’s world-class Private IP network that offers any-to- any connectivity of IP, while providing the security and reliability associated with private wide area networking solutions. Using Verizon’s Private IP wireless access feature, Secure Cloud Interconnect further extends to U.S. users of its world-class 4G LTE service.
Available in more than 165 markets around the globe, Private IP delivers scalability, varying classes of service, expansive reach and exceptional service including stringent service level agreements for latency and packet-loss.
