Latest Nexus leak spills the specs for larger HTC-made Marlin smartphone

It’s expected that HTC will debut two new Nexus smartphones later this year, and now a week following the first leak spilling the specs for the smaller of the two devices, Android Police has published a list of specifications for the larger “Marlin” smartphone…
If this spec list does turn out to be true, Google will be bringing down the size on this device yet again with a 5.5-inch display instead of the 5.7-inch panel found on the current Nexus 6P. Regardless it will still be an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2560×1440. Under the hood we’ll see another Qualcomm processor, although the model is not specified in this leak. It’s likely to be either a revised Snapdragon 820, Snapdragon 823, or the rumored 821.
Just like “Sailfish”, this device will carry 4GB of RAM and USB C along with a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front facing camera. For storage we’ll reportedly have either 32GB of 128GB, ditching the 64GB tier seen on the 6P.
The 3,450 mAh battery will also stick around, but sadly the speakers will be moved to the bottom of the device. There will also be a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on this device, a departure from the front-mounted option seen on other HTC-made devices such as the HTC 10.
Along with these specs, Android Police claims that the two devices will share a “basically identical” design language — similar to Apple’s strategy with the iPhone 6/6 Plus. Pricing on either device is unclear at this point.
We’re still at least a month or two from the official announcement of these new devices but with the specs and some of the important details already known, we should be in for some solid new phones — we’ll just have to hope that the appearance is good as well.
