Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Hyderabad entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Bengaluru for the development of 18m Antenna for Indian Deep Space Network.

Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Hyderabad entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Bengaluru for the development of 18m Antenna for Indian Deep Space Network.

At a function held in Bengaluru, P Sudhakar, Chairman and Managing Director of ECIL and KVVSSS R Anjaneyulu, Director of ISTRAC signed the MOU, which will facilitate ISRO and ECIL to jointly work for the indigenous design and realisation of the systems for upcoming missions like Aditya, Chandrayaan2 and Mars Orbiter2.

Earlier in 2008, ECIL has indigenously built a 32m Deep Space Network antenna in close association with ISTRAC and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), which provided telemetry tracking and command support for Chandrayaan1 mission and Mars Orbiter Mission1.

The 18m antenna presently taken up for development shall have simultaneous Transmit and Receive capability and will be installed at ISDN campus in Bylalu near Bengaluru.
