While TRS is very hopeful of win given that the Telangana sentiment is very high in the region, Congress wants to salvage its image post debacle in the Legislative Assembly elections. Political analysts believe that it was the most shocking defeat for the party as it had pinned hope on retaining control over the state after granting separate statehood status to Telangana.


Although Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan did not campaign for Jagga Reddy due to his health issues, the BJP-TDP combine is keen on making the region its stronghold.


A few days ago, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao campaigned for his party candidate K Prabhakar Reddy in his native town Medak.


On the other hand, senior BJP leaders DV Sadananda Gowda and Prakash Javadekar were in Medak to support former Congress MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy, a new entrant to the party. Former minister V Sunita Laxman Reddy is representing the Congress.


A total number of 15,43,700 electors are eligibile to exercise their franchise at 1,817 polling stations in the Lok Sabha seat, where 14 candidates are in fray. esides 4,213 state police personnel, 17 companies of central forces (around 1,700 men) have been deployed in the constituency, where 9,086 polling staff will be on duty.
