Maoist couple surrenders, A Maoist couple - Ade Prabhu alias Chandru (48) and Talandi Kanta alias Sujatha (35)- surrendered before Superintendent of Police Gajarao Bhupal at his Camp Office in Adilabad on Friday.

Producing the two extremists before the media here, the SP said Maoist couple had decided to join the mainstream as they were disillusioned with the ideology of the party and also on health grounds.
The couple worked for Maoist party for the past 30 years in various capacities in Telangana State and Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Ade Prabhu belongs to Kuntala village of the district. Influenced by the revolutionary songs by the then Khanapur Dala commander Ramesh during a meeting at the village in 1984, he joined the party. He worked in the Dalam up to 1986 and was later transferred to Gadchiroli. In January 2003 he was promoted and appointed in Cobramad. He worked in the capacity of commander till 2014 in Chhattisgarh. Talandi Kanta, a native of Desilpet, joined as member in Ahere Dalam in 1991 on the insistence of S Radhakka, DCM, Maoist party. She worked in Indravathi Dalam up to 2014.
