Hyderabad: Upbeat with huge response to social media accounts of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, Telangana State government has decided to create individual accounts for all Cabinet Ministers. Through this, TRS administration is planning to reach out to social media savvy population in 10 districts to make them aware about government decisions and happenings on administrative front. The IT and Communications department of the Telangana State government is on the job and very soon remaining members in KCR’s Cabinet, including T Harish Rao, Etela Rajender, G Jagdish Reddy, T Padma Rao among others would be active on social media.


All activities in department of the concerned Ministers, their official programmes and district tours etc. would be uploaded along with content and pictures in a matter of minutes on to these sites. Initially, IT department personnel would be handling the job of posting content for few months. Later ministerial staff would be tasked with this responsibility, informed sources in the department.

It may be mentioned here that KTR and T Harish Rao have been avid users of social media even before coming to power.

They used these platforms to communicate and share ideas with net savvy Telanganites from various parts of the globe during statehood agitation.

Elaborating details, a higher official from IT department stated that likes and hits the CM' and IT minister’s pages got within a short span of opening account led to this decision. It is hoping to use the same strategy to rest of the Cabinet team to get more mileage in the online medium.

To crack whip against KCR’s impersonator
Meanwhile, government is mulling to crack a whip against a person who created fake Twitter account on KCR’s name and has been posting abusive comments. IT department has already reached out to that person in the form of reply tweets and dissuaded him from doing so. Strict action would be initiated if he did not toe the line, sources said.
