Hyderabad: Members of the Exhibition Society are planning to celebrate the platinum jubilee celebrations in a big way. It is for the first time that advertisements for stalls were published all India level and it is also for the first time that the society will be making arrangements for online ticketing. P Narotham Reddy, Honorary Secretary of the Exhibition Society said, “An exhibition app is also being developed. The Exhibition Society runs 18 educational institutions but does not have a school for orphans. In the 75th year, a school for orphan kids will be opened in Karimnagar district from the next academic year.” A modern convention centre of 25,000 sq. ft is being planned at the Exhibition Society. Narotham Reddy says, “The Exhibition Society has been planning for a massive convention centre. The decision of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to convert the Exhibition Society as the next Pragati Maidan has come as a boost to the plans. Once the 46-day exhibition ends, we will be working vigorously towards developing the convention centre.”

At present two colleges, Vanitha Mahavidyalaya and Kamala Nehru Polytechnic College for Women are functioning inside the Exhibition Society campus. When asked if there was enough space to develop a society on par with the Pragati Maidan, a senior official said there was 19.4 acres open land that could be developed.

There will be close to 2,500 stalls and the entry fee will be Rs 20 per person. For children below age of 5 years entry is free.
