BPL families to get half kg sugar extra
Civil Supplies Commissioner C Parthasarathi said the State government had taken a decision to supply an additional quantity of half-a-kg sugar as festival quota in connection with Ugadi, the Telugu New Year’s day.
Hyderabad: Civil Supplies Commissioner C Parthasarathi said the State government had taken a decision to supply an additional quantity of half-a-kg sugar as festival quota in connection with Ugadi, the Telugu New Year’s day. In a press note issued here on Thursday, Parthasarathi stated that the government had earlier released additional quota of sugar for all BPL cardholders at half kg per card for Ramzan. In order to ensure that the cardholders had the benefit of having additional quantity of sugar for Ugadi festival, the government considered to release an additional quantity of half kg sugar at Rs 6.75 per packet, he said. A total of 4486.854 MTs of sugar have been allotted to districts for distribution to all BPL families (FSC/AFSC cards/coupon holders).
