TD MLA Revanth Reddy who was caught red-handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly trying to bribe nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote in favour of the TDP candidate in the Telangana Legislative Council elections on Monday was sent to 14 days in judicial custody by a court in Hyderabad.

TD MLA Revanth Reddy who was caught red-handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly trying to bribe nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote in favour of the TDP candidate in the Telangana Legislative Council elections on Monday was sent to 14 days in judicial custody by a court in Hyderabad.


The ACB officials informed that Revanth Reddy has been booked under Prevention of Corruption Act for offering bribe. While Revanth Reddy claimed that he was injured during the time police took him into custody, two others – Udaysimha and Bishop Harry who were accused in the case were sent to jail and fourth Jerusalem Mattaiah has absconded.

Director General A K Khan said that the TD MLA was allowed by the court to cast his vote in the MLC elections on Monday. However, efforts are being made by Revanth Reddy’s lawyers to secure him bail by the evening.


A senior police official informed that based on the written complaint of Revanth Reddy offering bribe, given by MLA Stephenson to the ACB, a trap was laid and ACB sleuths caught the TD MLA red-handed. ACB also made sure to have enough evidence in the form of audio and video of the entire episode to aid the case.

The arrest of Revanth Reddy has come as a big shocker to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party.
