As part of Jashn-e-Telangana programmes, internationally renowned Pakistani ghazal singer Ustad Ghulam Ali will enthral the audience with his ghazals at Charminar on Friday. Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, MPs, MLCs and MLAs will attend the programme. Special Secretary to Government Minorities Welfare Department Syed Omer Jaleel informed that the entry to the programme would be free.

Ustad Ghulam Ali, born in 1940, is a Pakistani ghazal singer of the ‘Patiala Gharana’. He is considered as one of the best ghazal singers of his era. His style and variations in singing ghazal has been noted as unique, as he blended Hindustani classic music with ghazals, unlike any other ghazal singer.
He is one of the most celebrated artistes in Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and amongst South Asian Diaspora in USA, the UK and the Middle Eastern countries. Some of his hit ghazals were also used in Bollywood movies. His famous ghazals are ‘Chupke Chupke Raat Din’, ‘Kal Chaudhvin ki Raat Thi’ and ‘Hungama hai kyon barpa’. His recent album “Hasratein” was nominated in the Best Ghazal Album category at GIMA (Global Indian Music Academy) – 2014.
