Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Thursday informed that it had denied the building permission for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh submitted building plans seeking permission for construction of residential buildings in Pr No 8-2-293/82/A/1310, 8-2-293/82/A/1309,1309/1 in Survey No 120 (New) of Shaikpet (V), situated at road No. 65, Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society, Hyderabad on May 18.


“After examining, it is observed that the plans are in violation of rules in respect of height of the building, construction setbacks and approved layout dimensions. Further the applicant has also commenced the construction work and erected footings for pillars/columns without prior permission. Therefore, the proposals were returned unapproved on June 16,” the GHMC said in a press release.


“It is not correct that the application was submitted 45 days before. The application was submitted on 18.05.2015 and the same was returned unapproved on 16.06.2015 within the stipulated period of 30 days. The application of Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh is not pending with GHMC,” the press release added.


Further, the GHMC said there was no relation between the rejection of the present application and payment of property tax for AP Secretariat building, as alleged. However, the AP government was due a sum of Rs 20 crore towards Property Tax for the year 2014-15. GHMC has been pursuing with the AP government to pay the said amount, the GHMC said.
