Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is contemplating to go on a fast in New Delhi to protest against the implementation of Section 8 of A.P. Reorganisation Act. The Chief Minister is said to have been displeased by the reports coming in of Attorney General Mukul Rahtogi opining Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan has powers to invoke section 8 on law and order in Hyderabad.

Questioning whether the Centre could take away the law and order powers of a duly elected Government in a federal system, KCR was quoted telling to the officials in a meeting along with Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma that he would not keep quiet if Centre takes such a decision and would build a national movement over the issue by seeking support of all the Chief Ministers in the country.

KCR even is said to have made it clear to Governor ESL Narasimhan whom he met on Tuesday that Telangana government would not accept such a proposal.
