Hyderabad: Employees unions on Tuesday alleged that the GVK- Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) was going back on its promise to increase the salaries of the employees working in 108 services. The EMRI had agreed to to increase the salaries during the talks in the presence of the Minister for Health.


Before calling off 108 employees strike, discussions were held between management of GVK-EMRI, employees in the presence of the Health Minister. After assurance form the Minister that their salaries would be increased by Rs 1,000, take back 70 sacked employees and payment of salary for 11 days strike period, the employees called off strike.


The management had agreed to all the proposals. But, now it went back on its promise to pay 11-day strike period salary. The management said it had hiked the salary to all employees by Rs 1,000 to all the emergency medical technicians (EMT) and pilots except 88 call centre staff (Emergency Response Officer).


The EMRI claimed that call centre staff were administrative staff. The 108 employees association condemned the move of the management and supported the call centre staff.
