KCR miffed at Minister for recommending ‘unfit’ officials for the post

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, is learnt to have rejected the names proposed by Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy for the appointment of Executive Director of the Telangana Medical Services Infrastructure Development Corporation (TMSIDC). Reportedly, the Chief Minister was angry on the minister for recommending ‘unfit’ officials from the different departments for the top post in the corporation.

The post had been vacant for the past three months after the government sent back a revenue official on the charges of irregularities. KCR asked the Minister to come up with a new proposal for the appointment to one of the top most post in TMSIDC.

According to sources, the health department sent three names of Revenue department and one from medical services. The Health Minister is said to have personally recommend the doctors name for the post. According to official sources, CM wants to appoint an experienced official with a clean record to strengthen the corporation.

The government was planning to spend Rs 7,000 crore to construct hospital buildings, purchasing medical equipment, and drugs through TMSIDC to fulfill the promises made in elections. Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has placed an order of Rs 60 crore to procure medical equipment through TMSIDC.

In fact, the Principal Secretary of Health, Suresh Chanda who is also Managing Director of TMSIDC felt that he was facing additional burden to clear some files which have to be cleared by the ED in the corporation. However, the minister now is considering a bio-medical engineer who is on deputation in other department. The doctors’ community also recommends the minister to appoint a bio-medical engineer.
