Hyderabad: The national president of BC Welfare Association R Krishnaiah has lashed out at both state and central governments for not doing enough for the upliftment of backward classes who constitute half of the country’s population. Prominent BC leader Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan was felicitated by various caste organisations at BC Bhavan in Vidyanagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the BC leader and LB Nagar MLA was highly critical of governments for not releasing statistics of various castes in BC that were counted based on socio-economic conditions. The Central government, instead of releasing figures, appointed an expert committee to look into the issue, which is purely anti-BC decision, Krishnaiah fumed.

Further, Krishnaiah demanded that youth should be given 50 percent reservation in education and employment sectors, he said. Meanwhile, Krishnamohan stressed the need for a nationwide agitation to garner support for BCs development.
