Hyderabad: The huge public response to Godavari Pushkaralu being celebrated in Telangana State is reminiscent of Maha Kumbh Mela, Government Special Representative in Delhi S Venugopala Chary said on Sunday.
Talking to media persons after inspecting the arrangements made for the festivities at Bhadrachalam in Khammam district, Chary said huge number of people thronged pushkar ghats and the response was tremendous, he said. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had put in place a foolproof plan to ensure smooth conduct of festival.
After holding review meetings with Ministers, MPs, MLAs and officials, the Chief Minister came out with a perfect plan for smooth conduct of the festivities at all the pushkar ghats constructed in five districts.
The credit for the best facilities being provided to pilgrims should go to the Chief Minister only, he said. Chary accused the previous governments of failing to conduct the festivities during last Pushkaralu on a grand note. This time, the TRS government was conducting the Pushkaralu in a grand manner, he remarked.
