After many clashes and stirs between the two states - Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, another one seems around the corner. This time the rivalry has now turned into a temple war. According to a leading daily, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wants the state to have its own Tirupati temple.

When the bifurcation took place, Andhra Pradesh retained Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala while Telangana got the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Srisailam and Sri Kalahasthi temple in Chittoor.

Telangana now plans to match the temple of Sri Laskhmi Narasimha Swamy or Yadagirigutta's popularity to the Tirupati temple. While Yadagirigutta sees about 20,000 to 50,000 pilgrims a year, Tirupati witnesses one lakh visitors per day.

To compete with the Seshachalam hills of Tirupati, the temple development authority have spotted eight hillocks near Yadagirigutta temple to develop as a nine-hills complex. By this move, a perfect pilgrimage will be created that is spread over 2000 acres at Yadadri foothills.
