Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar has expressed dissatisfaction over Hyderabad being given 275th place in ‘Swachh Bharat’ rankings. Somesh Kumar said that the ranking was not up to the mark and placing Hyderabad at 275th place was incorrect. “While taking up the ranking exercise, certain surveys have not been made properly.
The committee has not discussed the ranking relating matters either with me or the Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration,” he said. The Commissioner pointed that in 2014 itself, Hyderabad was on the 70th place. He said Hyderabad should have been in the Top 20 especially in view of measures that it took to ensure sanitation and other civic works. When compared to other metropolitan cities, the GHMC is in top place, he claimed.
